At a particular age(differs slightly between people) theres a part of your long bones(like femur) that on the ends of the bone have whats called an epiphyseal plate. If that plate has not fused then growth(tallness/lengthening) occurs. At a certain age those plates fuse and no more growth/height/tallness can occur…..period.
